I Love Where I Live

I have lived in Newquay all my life and I am still blown away on a daily basis by our beautiful coastline.  The ruggedness of the cliffs and beaches regularly keep me in awe of the beauty that surrounds us.

As an active family with four energetic boys and a dog we go out a lot.  I feel it is the best thing for us all to get outside daily.  Long coastline walks, rambling in the sand dunes, climbing rocks, looking in rock pools, exploring, going on adventures, running, chasing, having fires and breathing in the sea air.

The boys go for it when we go out.  Lots of games made up either together or solitary, practically seeing the boys imaginations working in front of them.  We see lots of rolling, jumping, sliding on the sand, any movement possible.

Sometimes their clothes take a knock.  Ripped knees on jeans, tears on jumpers and holey socks.

This could stress me out.  A son coming up to me with an accidental tear that I can not fix could make me fork out more money that we are trying to save for our much needed time in warmer climes.  I don’t want my son to feel bad as I know he didn’t mean it.

But instead I am fine.  These things happen.  I know I can use the ripped jeans as shorts by cutting off the legs and the legs used as rags.  As for replacement jeans I know I can get some by shopping vintage.  No need to spend lots on new.

At The Clothes Horse we understand how it feels to be in this scenario.  That’s why we make sure that the clothes we have can either be swapped or picked up at an affordable price.

We want children to have adventures as adventures make memories so lets keep giving them these opportunities whilst smiling that we have a good rescue plan when needed!
